My wife tells me that last night in bed while asleep my legs were cycling.

I have only been cycling for a few months and was wondering if this is something my wife can look forward to more regularly. (She is amused by the observation but it doesn't excite her)

I'm not the world's best sleeper, and if I find myself awake when i should be asleep, I re-enact my favourite cycle rides, rather than count sheep

I stick my iPod on and listen to a podcast, eyes closed in the dark bedroom. I usually drift off before thend of the podcast but... It means I wake up with the earbuds still in my ears, and I have to re-listen to part of the podcast from the bit I last remember

You probably wake up sometimes trying to garrotte yourself on the wires, I know I do

Or with one really sore ear where you've turned onto your side and the earphone has dug in at an unpleasant angle for most of the night.

I tend to re-enact golf rounds when I can't get to sleep... did I just say that out loud on a cycling forum?

Hah yeah that's the one (*and* the garrotte mentioned ). I actually picked my latest headphones based on likely sleep comfort, they're not too bad

Many years ago I went out with a biker - the HA type, not to be confused with a lycra clad type!
Anyhoo..... around 3am everynight he would try to kick start his bloody Harley - Amusing the first few times, until he literaly launched me out the bed & accross the room! I soon figured a sharp swift poke to the ribs stopped his antics!

How many of us have dreams that we're riding the bike then? I'm always dreaming that I've been on a nice jaunt.
When I was younger, I used to dream about passionate encounters with the women I fancied. These days, I dream about typing forum posts, doing the washing up, emptying rubbish bins, that kind of thing. I really must get out more!
