Not into it, but does anyone know if its possible to get to view a segment or a route as is often posted on here, without having it.
Looking to compare some of the local undualations with ones I know I've ridden up

not quite sure what you mean but you can check routes on strava and segments if you know name of roads,goto strava.com you might have to register first thou

Yes I think you can.
Here you go, link should work for you.
I think you need to know the name of the segment you want to check out to find it.
Alternatively, cycle street shows altitude.

On this one Saturday at 18:50 , I know both the hills at either end, and the fact that elevation, in 200 foot increments, is equal to a distance of 5 miles, exagerates things slightly. I'd like to compare it hills I use more often & try to understand the topography from there.
