.My wife spent 90 minutes doing a moose stage the other evening and then I realised it's also a goat stage!

I think it's a really different type of stage to the norm so looking forward to how it pans out. May actually be the hardest stage of the league!!
That was the hardest Moose stage (Little Cottonwood). The rest are considerably easier.

It's also harder than the rides I'm looking at for the start of the new year. The hardest so far is a variant which starts down in the valley and ends up at snowbird #2. So you get a few miles of gentle climb, then a shortened ride up the canyon. The full canyon is rated 755 by bkool, the Snowbird Hillclimb route gets a 677 and I can confirm the full canyon is definitely harder in real life. I'll also make sure we can add ghosts and bots next time.

finally my trainer arrived last yesterday, thought id give it a little spin to try it out! So wolfed down my pizza and set it up, very easy set up, wow! just found out I have gears on my bike that I never knew I needed:heat:, think I might be a little bit out of my depth with the goats league but going to give it a bash tomorrow

Yeah. I meant to let you know but I thought I missed the deadline. It won't change the standings and it is completing the rides themselves that matter. I'll try to get ahead of them next month. Thanks again for setting these up. Also with out having it listed under the league there may be a tiny grain of doubt in LB's mind that I may have beat him on that one too.

Yes Randy, it's the taking part that's important, not the winning:bicycle:. That's practically the main motto of the Mountain Goats but thanks for reminding us anyway. ;)
I think sometimes there some wayward goats get a little bit over competitive at times .

I'd have to agree with you about LB having a tiny grain of doubt in his mind about you beating him on Emigration Canyon. If only your ride had shown up in the league. LB was rather fast on that one too, but I think you did once win a Bkool Summer cup stage which is pretty awesome :notworthy: (even if you did use a wormhole :giggle:) so it's entirely possible that you beat him again :cycle:.

Here's a link to LB's ride on Emigration Canyon :wahhey:

Anyway, the league finished last night some time so time for me to go and set up the new one.

The winner stayed as Ryan. Well done Ryan and please keep at it so those of us who want to get faster will have a target (I wish).
Please all keep at it because the league is getting more interesting and strategy's and tactics are starting to become a factor .

Winter League Three will be a little different. I'll keep you posted once I've set it up

Hi all,
I'm new to BKool - discovered this forum and fancy a bit of social media peer pressure to make me sweat all over the lounge floor. Could someone approve my request to join the Chaingang please. Same username as here.

Just returning to a topic that was aired briefly a while back, how hard we push ourselves on the turbo and whether some of us push too hard:
http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/article/heart-health-warning-signs-for-cyclists-45837/

I have read around this a lot in the last few weeks. The science view doesn't appear settled but its worth reading about.

FWIW A proper fan or 2 has a huge impact on my heart rate often bringing it down by 10-15 bpm though chasing you guys seems to send it up again! Never underestimate how hot we get when on the turbo.

I did the chaingang stage 1 for Dec earlier I got to 22.9km and it booted me out of the app :banghead: I was about 5 mins up on the ghost of the slowest time and about 1-30 mins behind another Bkooler just getting to the bottom of the hill, I carried on pedalling for 5 mins in the hope it would pick the ride back up, it didn't happen  I had to rejoin in last place at my own ride after the ghost had past me and finished about 2 mins behind the ghost. Very frustrating :hyper:

If I get a chance I may do it again but it takes a lt out of me and I am worried I may aggravate my injury, I am not seeing the consultant till Dec16 and still unsure what to do for the best.

It also meant I was only given 7km on my history not the 30+ I did with the warm up:angry: I hope this is not going to be a regular thing

I am still on the upward curve performance wise and have been travking my HR. I have noticed an increase in the avg HR I can sustain, also the max HR I can get to, before having to stop, is going up as well ( I still don't know if I have reached my max HR, yet, because the legs give out first, still working on that).

I have ordered 2 new fans to try and cool me down, because the one I am using is not cutting it. Drinking whilst on the trainer keeps the HR lower as well.

Im already looking forward to what you have in store Bill for the next Goat League. Its great to see so many people getting stuck in to these league rides and certainly helps the motivation to put in a hard effort. As you say it is all relative as i was more than happy just to beat Ryan in one stage and be competitive in a few others, though i think if Ryan didnt already have the overall win in the bag then he would have been back to wipe the floor with me on Skenes Rd.

question for the mountain moose league administrator... I'm missing several stages under my league tab on the bsim but in the league they are showing to expire until 28th Dec 2015

Have I missed the window ???

Sorry to hear that Neil...but on the bright side, at least you hadn't started the final hill in earnest! :heat:

I don't see them in the pending attempts. Most likely they weren't done as league rides -- I think that can happen when you challenge someone due to a glitch in how the league was set up. Sadly, I can't fix it retroactively  But I think I know what to do differently next time.

The easiest resolution is to go to the league page, click on the little emblem for the ride that wasn't recorded. That'll schedule a league ride, the make sure you . Then just do a minute or so of the ride, quit but save the session.

At that point I can then copy the time from your real ride and it'll appear in the league results.

The league closes at the end of the year -- the idea was to give folks plenty of time to do the various rides & recover, possibly participating in other leagues/group rides and account for the holiday season as well.

Interesting article! Reaffirms that we should always be on the look out for any warning signs our bodies give us.

Has put me in the notion of a larger fan now.

I assume everyone gets through a lot of fluids on the trainer? I'd down at least a 750ml bottle per hour on average.
