I'll send them an email explaining roughly how we do it and, if it's OK with you bill, I'll send a link to your 51 minute ride for them to see. Be interesting to see how they respond to this one!
I have noticed that it takes some time for the resistance to kick in when we take off from start, but I wouldn't have imagined that repeating this start-sprint could pay off. I would have thought that one would be wasting to much time waiting to return to "start-mode", while the others powered away.
I'm training for a goal in the real world, so I won't fool my self by riding that style, but it annoys me that it's possible.
Sending the link to Bill's ride is a really good idea, and maybe add the we are a whole community rather than just on person.

Exactly. They are very aware of the cyclechat community theses days! I've been pestering then about the ghost issue too.

I mentioned that it was the cyclechat group that have discovered this and gave them the link to Bill's ride as a sample. I hope I don't get a generic answer as this is a real interesting one for them I'm sure :okay:

So the latest firmware/SW updates drives your BKool to work in an ANT+ FEC profile and this profile is what I didn't think existed i.e. a kind of international standard.
As I don't have this then I assume I am using a previous ANT+ interface and perhaps that is why I seem unaffected by these 'features' and hence unable to replicate the on/off 'style'.

The ANT+fec profile enables in theory all trainers to run in all compatible software on a levelish playing field. I think. You go into settings to manually enable ant fec. So I enable ant etc for Zwift but disable for bkool. Now perhaps the answer is for bkool turbos to run on its ant+ fec allowing all others too as well? Glitch sorted would not that level the playing field?

I feel like I have stirred up a hornets nest and put some divide into the Cycle Chat members, this was not intended as I have no real concern how others do thier thing so long as they are gaining a 'well being' advantage from it.

I don't think you have I think by u playing with the unit and working out what was going on and bill putting it to the test is going to help
I for 1 will work on it to improve my spinning which im always struggling with but ive only been cycling 7 months
it the league set up by this group that keeps us motivated and we need to keep it as near as possible level for all

GailB you killed me last night trying to beat your ghost for you to only go and smash it today!
Lol. My fault partially as I fixed my 'bkool' bike yesterday which seems to be faster than Gails bike, which we've both been using for the past few days instead.

I encouraged Gail to give it another go to see what difference the bike makes. Turns out it's quite a bit!

I'll pass on your message to Gail. :okay:

If you could put your other bike back on it would be much appreciated hahahah

Naa, as Rob says I don't think you or anyone else has stirred up any hornets nests. Bkool may think that I have, but really I and you and everyone else here just wants to help them to have as good a product as possible, admittedly for our own enjoyment rather than their profitability.
Definitely no divide here as we all want the same. Some of us just a bit more interfering than others perhaps .

We're all one big happy (dysfunctional) family :hugs:

I dont think anyone would really want to sit doing the pulsing method during their sessions anyway - its very interesting to find these things out but I'm sure, as someone said yesterday, we just want to train and ride our bikes in a way that as close as possible replicates the outside world. :bicycle:

I think the main aggro recently comes from Bkools lack of proper implementation for other trainers. :o)

Is that down in St. George?
Yes. My LBS owner in Sitka has a condo here and recommended some great trails. I am not really a mountain biker and they are a whole lot tougher than I thought. I am sore all over. I can't even imagine Bill S doing 24 hours of single track at the Strathpuffer race. That's crazy.
I had my first video published, the down hill ride of Snow Canyon and Jon Bon already set a record.
