Excellent pace Rick... The climb hurt me, felt like it went on for ages. I reckon I'm going to need a weight division, getting my ass kicked big time.

:banghead: destroyed me on the last climb LB!! and thats after you doing a FTP test !?!? :notworthy: Was hoping to draft you when I caught up but that didnt exactly work out! ^_^

Na no more snickers for me - moved on to the hard stuff - special K! :wahhey:

Pretty pleased with that overall but I was fading for the last 5 miles or so. :heat:

the weights starting to slowly come of me now so just lowered my weight (after the race) to 87kg. Hope to get another 2-3 of KG off over the summer.

Man, between you and Monte I better train twice as hard. I really put in everything to get the 58 minute mark and Monte did 55. I've lost a lot of inches but no weight yet. This being the last race of the season gives me all summer to get ready for the next season. Again thanks a ton Geoff and Bill for setting these up I really appreciate it.

Ok, I really got the advantage on the climbs then with my 75kg. I really did go beserk on the last climb and was once over 900 watts :hyper:(didn't register on my activity though).

I would like to extend my thanks to Geoff & Bill for administering the leaque but also to everyone in the group, it's been great. I will continue to look in and always up for a group ride, will try and keep Thursday nights free.

Geoff get well soon, and get back on that bike as soon as the docs give you the all clear.

Stay safe on the roads...

Congratulations Lars for winning the Chain Gang league. It was well deserved. Also congratulations on your new shirt. I was expecting it when you appeared on screen today.
It'll be interesting to see where we're all at when the bkool league season starts again.

Thanks everyone who took part.

Yes, thanks to Geoff and Bill and all of you guys for having me in. I really think the BKool races have made me just that little bit sharper. The form will be put to the test on sunday.
I really think it could be nice to hear about your race experiences in real life. Do you guys post raceinfo somewhere?

Good luck Lars. Please let us know how you do.
During the off season I'll still be riding the Bkool quite a bit because of our limited road system and will try to race the ghosts of any of you " non ABGKl Guys" (Adam Bill Geoff Kipster Lars)
I might have to look into getting a badminton set if it can shave 7 minutes off my race time.

 I help out with an after schools club for the kids so don't play much. It finished at easter so some of the staff are continuing on for a few weeks for the craic. :becool:

Been out riding with a guy a couple of times who's in a club. He reckons I'd be fitter than a lot of them already due to the way I've been pushing on bkool throughout the winter. They haven't been doing much in comparison. He's super fit though and leaves me for dead!

I'll give it another year then maybe try some real life racing just for the challenge. Never going to catch the Bills and Lars of this world but would like to try it none the less. Never thought of myself as heavy till I started cycling seriously so that's my main disadvantage !

It's been great racing you guys over the winter and thanks to Geoff and Bill for all their work. Thanks to Rayvon, Randy and Monte for being great motivation - chasing or being chased!

Have to say BKOOL website has never really been a problem, unlike BSIM.

Previous version (2.25) resulted in continual freezes/crashes as I have reported earlier. BKOOL support always refused to accept there was anything wrong with the software, always blaming the PC and not listening to my analysis of the problems I was encountering.

First impression of v2.32 is that all of the problems I previously encountered have now been resolved. Nothing wrong with v2.25? Hmmm. Fingers crossed.

Ok, here's my race info from the first race of the year. I think the racetype is called "Sportive! in english - a public race with helpers only the most dangerous places. It's a route around my local lake, with some tough small hills on the north-east side of the lake. I thought it would be good TT training to use the hills to get away on my own, and then put the power on.

Unfortunately we met up with a group that was riding another distance, and I was closed in by some teams who now grew to twice the size. There was also confusion about who was with which group, and at one time a guy I hadn't seen before, took off. No one went after him and I was sure he belonged to the other group. I eventually got away from the team that locked me in, and began to put on some pressure on the hills.

It was a real strange race. I was the only one without a team, and yet I was up front putting some pressure on. The start was sooo slow, and I think we were half way before the pace began to pick up.

There was a bunch of 10-12 guys I couldn't shake off on the hills, but I guess the effort made its mark, since we were only 4 guys sprinting at the end. A guy with a lead-out man beat me by the width of a tire.

To my big suprise, the guy that took off earlier, was standing at the finish line, so perhaps we were not sprinting for victory. The guy who beat me in the sprint, let out a big deep viking roar at the finish line, so I guess he thought he won too^_^.

Sound like good fun LB, I've never raced, don't think that I'm fast enough.

If you want to have a go at hills, there is a 'Sportive' in England's Lake District called the Fred Whitton, one of the guys in the club is doing it next week.

Here is a link to some random persons go last year: http://www.strava.com/activities/139906833

Here is a link to the web page for the ride and sign up ;) http://www.fredwhittonchallenge.co.uk/

And a link to the kind of support we have on English Sportives  http://road.cc/content/news/118596-...tal-serious-injuries-during-2014-fred-whitton

I suspect it's Bill's type of ride, but not one for me!

Hi kipster

Thanks for the info. Looks more like small mountains in that sportive. Wish we had some of those here :-) I love to ride in the mountains, but I would probably not be very competitive with my 75 kgs.
