LIVING THE DREAM
Had problems with my internet connection, so missed the start of the Chain Gang race. It was a toughie and a bit lonely. I was certainly warmed up for the trundle up Rundlestone and thanks to AAAC for the tow part way up the second part of the climb, before he took off to chase Rob down. Looks like my ride has gone AWOL in Bkool - I'm sure I saved it but I suppose I might have hit the wrong key as I was pretty knackered.

I thought I'd misjudged the handicap effect as I was having real trouble making ground once I realised Bill was toasted but the watts came into effect nicely once the road went flat and then my handicap turned into and advantage as we rolled downhill.
I was trying to lead you into the climb but I was simply rolling away from with not effort required.

Yep, I thought you pipped me as well, 146 rpm spinning like nobodies business.
Perhaps the time is taken from when you start rolling and I was slower off of the mark than you?

Yup. I was off the mark quicker so that'll be the reason you have a quicker time. Rob was bl00dy quick at the start too and came horsing past me. Was hoping he would stick around for some drafting.

I think perhaps all this real live racing instead of bkooling is taking the edge off your performance.
Yes, perhaps you're right ^_^.
It was fun though. I thought I would try to see how long I could go solo before being caught by the peloton. If one or two riders broke away to join me I planned to continue, otherwise I would bail when I was caught.
It was looking pretty good until I hit a tough 7 m/s headwind. The headwind section was "just" about 5 km out of a 13 km round.
After 7 km I avg. more than 40 kph (Headwind section started at about km 6).
I was caught after 12 km, and by then my avg. speed had dropped to just below 37 kph. Strong headwind is just devastating for a lone rider :surrender:.

I tried to see if i could stay with u for a minute or so but it was too much could feel myself burning out
On the handicap ride my legs where burning and i could see aaac catching me at an incredible rate i was at 37 kg and struggling aaac 97 kg and flying up

Tip of the day. This is a very funny book.

I've approved the times from last nights run at Rundlestone, well done everyone on a very hot evening.

@BILL S, @JLaw and @berty bassett, if you want your times from Tuesday putting in the Handicap league, log a short time league session and I'll adjust to match your time from Tuesday.

@rob01792 no need, as your time last night was substantially faster, very well done!

The Handicap league is very close at the moment! :hyper:

Is that the thing that should always be covered even if only by a 'teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini?
I assumed this as you mentioned 'the lakes' so I guessed you were going swimming.

@gbrown - my Thursday night handicap ride has now appeared on the League tab, so could you do the honours please, as I thought I'd lost that one.
