Is that the thing that should always be covered even if only by a 'teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini?
I assumed this as you mentioned 'the lakes' so I guessed you were going swimming.
i can assure you that i would have rather tried swimming coniston lake than getting up hardknott without said ring ! and i can't swim !! theres steep and there is just stupid ! - sit down and your front wheel starts lifting - stand up and your back wheel spins out  i think i am cured of my hill fetish -- till next time maybe :okay: definitly want a 34 instead of 38 next time though

Hardknott!!!! This would be my weapon of choice on Hardknott.

At least with this there is no doubt that I would be electric powered.

Brilliant AAC - you were not only taking the p!ss on the handicap ride last Thursday, egging me on up the last climb before putting on the gas to chase Rob down, but now you are into ageist remarks against us poor pensioners

I'm not ageist unless, of course, you are older than me and then it's fair game, isn't it?

We never did set up that league where everyone had to down a bottle of wine during the ride.
:stop:As tempting as this sounds I'd have to decline participation in this league :headshake:. Although I'll have no problems at the start of the session :bicycle: I'd be absoloutely banjaxed by the end :cycle: and as you know I'm no light weight :mrpig:.

I know what you mean. I would also be lucky to make it to the end:wacko:xx(. Then there's those like AAAC for whom the wine would just act as a powerful energy drink so they'd only be faster.:cycle:

Any ideas/preferences for todays ride at 5 or shall we just stick to Champs Elysees?

I'm saving myself for another go at the Summer Cup stage 8 . Hopefully I will get a time :cursing:.

Fortunately no one joined so I also decided to re-run summer cup stage 4. Unfortunately it was far too hot and I only lasted 5 minutes. Better save myself for tomorrow if it's cooler. I never could have finished Champs Elysees anyway.

That is a very deceptive stage. It looks flatter than it actually is and kicks you when you don't give it the respect it deserves . I've done it twice and would only consider doing it again if part of a league :headshake:.

Belated apologies I had to go to the cinema, to watch 'Bad Moms', with the boss (HID)

Legs are like slits today after bending down from 09:00 to 15:00 changing the all the discs and pads on my car.

The first one (front left) was a little slow as I learned the lay of the land and then the next two went well, front and back right, but the last one (back left) was a pig because the caliper piston would not wind in and the super dooper left and right handed universal tool bought from Halfords was pants to get and purchase and leverage with and stay engaged.
I was either going to have to just refit the old disc and pads for now or remove the caliper or try something different so I tried something different and it seems to have worked as all the brakes are functioning and not dragging at all.
The something different was to use my electric impact driver and a socket on the end of the winder instead of the 3 inch bar that came with it. This pretty much wrecked the spigots on the tool and did a bit of damage to the piston that I had to file down but its all back together and working.
I have ordered a cheaper right thread only tool with a big hex head on the winder shaft so you can fit a bigger lever for next time or when the rear left brake/hand brake stops working properly.
Good thing is because I fitted new discs that had and anti corrosion finish, which of course will worn off at the contact surface, I can judge by a simple post drive visual inspection if any of the discs are showing more or less contact.

One of the few jobs I will do on a car. Disc and pads. It's a great money earner for garages.
Garage: Sir needs new discs and pads.
Me: Will they last a few thousand miles as I can't afford to do them at the moment
Garage: We think that should be ok.
6 or 9 or 10k miles later depending on service interval.
repeat the conversation.
I've saved enough money on not getting them done when advised I've bought a car.
