My first racer had these on!
My dad took me down to a second bike shop in Brixton and I picked out a 5 speed rocket ship in blue. Not sure what make it was but when I told my dad I'd prefer it if it was white he took matters into his own hands and painted it. 12 years old and king of the road!!
That's an idea! I'll see over the next 2 weeks if I can get on with the current set up, else I might investigate these further. Cheers

Cheers @kipster I might take you up on that. Are they easy to fit? How do they connect to the existing brake levers? I'd get the bike shop to fit them but just wondering how easy/hard it would be?
To be honest I didn't really take note when I took them off. You would need to cut / trim the cable outers but I believe the cable just runs though so they would need to be carefully taken off and re routed through again without fraying else new cables. I'll dig them out of the garage, drop me a private message with your address and I'll post.

Or reduce the stem length the shortist you can go is 35mm which is on my bike made a big difference

I'm watching Bike channel on Virgin Media (also available on other systems). They have a series called The Greatest Climbs.
The current episode it San Gottardo. It is beautiful and incredibly hard.
