I have suddenly got into SKA after 30 odd years of hating it... Selecta vinyl on its way, rock on!

Weird feeling buying Floyd's 'The Wall' from Sainsburys the other week, scanning and self checkout...bought it originally from Record & Tape Exchange in Notting Hill back in early 80s, proper record shop smells an all that

There was a record and tape exchange in Ipswich, mostly known as the record and B.O exchange.

Possibly my best vinyl find was Stevie Wonder's 'Songs in the Key of Life' - £2!

However, trying to work up the courage to purchase Liquid Swords by the GZA - £23 new - ouch!

I used to think vinyl sounded more alive than CDs or digital, but now I am not so sure. Some of my records sound like they're gurgling underwater. I changed the needle, but no improvement. LPs tend to sound worse than 45s. I do not have a very expensive record player, but I am not sure I want to risk buying a better one.

I found 'Green' by Steve Hillage in a bric a brac shop in Llangollen recently...50p for a 1978 classic!

The Beatles album collection has been re-released on vinyl, first issue out now with Abbey Road for £9.99. I've just dug my old turntable out of the cupboard in anticipation.
