I bought the Faust tapes when Virgin released for something like 48p. My sister bought Camembert Electrique which was at the same price. Neither of us liked what we'd bought, so we swapped. I was hooked on Gong from that moment on. I don't think she got quite such a good deal as I did!
That is exactly what I paid for it too, I took it back the next day and put the money towards something else, I cant remember what.

Yes, I saw them last November, when they toured with Steve Hillage. The first set was just the current Gong band, though a lot of what they played went back to Camembert and even earlier. The second with Steve & Miquette (with Gong as their backing band) was mostly from Steve's solo albums, and very good they all were too. I also saw Here & Now last year, in fact they were playing at the same festival as we were in Kent. Only original member is Keith, the bass player, but it was still 100% Here & Now. We had to follow them on the main stage and it was a bit weird, my head was back at Stonehenge in the 70s!
Yes I wanted to see Hear & Now last year but couldn't get the time off work... but 30 years ago, I had a ticket to see Hear & Now but booked the wrong night off work, so rang my boss to tell him that the gig was tonight and not tomorrow and could i swap my nights off. He said no so i quit and went to see Hear & Now. I also discovered the delights of Marmite that night :okay:

You all should have investigated further, Faust did some great stuff.

Here and Now are a great band - when I was told we were headlining the show after they played their slot, I was definitely nervous, and I am never nervous about gigs! I had decided to keep a low profile, but the silly sods parked right next to me! Had a great chat with Keith abut bass playing and he stayed for our whole set and had another chat afterwards. Top bloke!

What's your band then?

...and did you see the recent Hear & Now documentary movie on YouTube?

I play with the Grateful Dudes, a Dead tribute/cover band, and yes, I saw the H&N documentary. Good to see so many faces from the past. When I lived in Leeds in the 70s H&N would stay with us after gigs.
As a matter of interest, one of our drummers is a very keen cyclist.

We were lucky enough to see them in Cardiff a year or so back. Maybe the progiest prog rock band if the all. Wow, what a gig! Three drummers out front, wind player, guitars (and the like, including a guy doubling on a "chapman stick") and Robert Fripp himself sat in a chair quietly at the back, despite him being the bandleader and main creative force. The music was complex, particularly the interaction between the 3 drummers - I didn't see sheet music but though it must be hard for the drummers particularly to keep it so precise and tight without it. As befitting such "serious" music, there was no light show, no "hello Cardiff" whooping and hollering, and just a polite bow between pieces. One of the best and most exciting rock concerts I'ver ever been to, and I wasn't a particular fan to be honest.

Here is the same line up, in a very similar performance to what we saw

I liked King Crimson when Adrian Belew joined them,
