See, if you like salt and pepper, sauce whatever, then you should put it on first because if you try the food and then put stuff on you're almost saying 'sorry not good enough for me, more seasoning required'. I think it would be a bit off if they said do you mind if I take mine to the kitchen and re-cook it the way I like it because your cooking is shíte, rich.

I once had a flatmate whose boyfriend brought round a frozen lasagne in case he didn't like the dinner we were cooking. Which, as it happened, was a smoked haddock rarebit followed by a load of salt-marsh lamb chops with roasted baby turnips. Should have made him eat the lasagne, the tosser.
