I noticed my outdoor chest freezer was frosting, needs to be defrosted and the seal checked so I'm on a slow cook mission to get everything cooked from in that to empty it (cooked meals go in the indoor freezer).

Sunday
Pork joint, mixed stir fry vegatables and a liberal dashing of English Mustard for flavouring

Tuesday
Pork Steaks, mixed diced vegtables, 2 onions chopped, plenty of 'Aldi All Purpose Seasoning' on top

All of the meat was bought at at least 50% off. I tend to swipe any meat, or veg, off the shelf if I see it reduced and it goes in the freezer for later.

Spaghetti with courgette, chilli, garlic and lemon.

Couple of nice yellow courgettes from the Mother in Law's garden. Sliced thinly and roasted with chilli, garlic, olive oil and seasoning.

Meanwhile cooked the pasta, then added to the roasting tin on the heat with a couple of knobs of butter, lemon juice and some pasta water to create an emulsion. Bit of basil to finish and then obviously parmesan.

Nice summer dish.

Chicken and cheese wraps for the kiddos, followed by a bit of soup and bread because they were still hungry, grandad (me) didn't think that one through eh ?
For me..freshly picked tomatoes and spring onions from the girls veg garden, olives, cucumber, beetroot, some chicken...a bit of a mixed salad basically.
Cornflakes and banana in a moment....

Yesterday - spinach, ricotta & walnut cannelloni, and an apple crumble.

Tomatoes and herbs (bay, sage, oregano, thyme, rosemary) from the garden, foraged walnuts, yellow sticker ricotta, yellow sticker cannelloni pasta, and apples from the community orchard.

Persian chicken last night. Cod with tarragon crumb tonight

The bony chicken thighs are delicious, but more bone than meat, so I've taken all the meat off, cooked a load of onions, garlic and mushrooms, and mixed it all together to make an easier-to-eat and bulkier thing to go with pasta. I've had three meals so far, and reckon there's probably another five: I'm at the stage of my French stay of counting the days left and trying to leave the fridge empty (everything gets turned off).

An easy chicken Korma. Leftovers from Sunday dinner, a bottle of supermarket Korma sauce and basmati rice. Perfectly acceptable...

A heavily-reduced-but-still-acceptable-gammon slice, broccoli and a couple of soft-boiled eggs with plenty of coarse salt and a decent dollop of piccalilli

Dessert was hand-picked blackberries (trying to ignore the dead fruit fly larve stuck to the inside of the jar), pistachios and vanilla greek(ish) yoghurt.

All I could manage / just thrown together out of necessity / being knackered; although I'm no great cook so don't manage much better under more favourable conditions.

Spaghetti with basil & walnut pesto and roasted baby plum tomatoes, followed by an apple & blackberry crumble with custard.

The basil and tomatoes were from the garden, the walnuts were foraged last autumn, and the apples and blackberries came from the community orchard and nature reserve in the village.
