Well ordered online from evans, said 2 in stock.
Went to collect, waited half hr for them to get from warehouse then for them to say they dont have it!
Got a tiagra one instead, hopefully it works

Tiagra mech installed, same problem ARRRGGGGHHH!
Same thing exactly, i can get it going up the cassette and back down stops at 2nd smallest then wont go into smallest cog

I suggest you check your shifter again. Are you ABSOLUTELY 100% sure it is a 10 speed shifter and a 10 speed mech to work on a 10 speed cassette? The fact you have found the rear mech to be 11spd makes me think this bike is not as straight/legit as you may think and parts have been somewhat mixed by a previous owner (or not owner as the case may be!).

Well i think im done with it, its stressing me out too much, any money i had put aside to put into a shop ive spent on tools and parts,

Could it be that the clarks cable is rubbish?

And I assume the 5700 shifter number is read directly off the right hand shifter, correct?

Yep of the right shifter, i checked the other one too, its the same.
Mech is RD4700 GS
the guy in the shop said it was the same pull as the 5701 they didnt have in stock, but to be honest they are utterly useless in there so im not taking his word
