Trouble with rear gears

It looks about right to me too.

Large and large bottom
The old chain was 57inch this is now 55inch

55 was according to this calculator

What do we think too long, short or ok?

Too short. You had it right first time round.

Firstly,
Good job on getting the gears sorted.
Secondly,
The chain is OK as it is. (It fits and works).
But IMO it was better before you shortened it.

Ok added them back in now

When you pedal backwards it catches on the furthest jockey wheel from the cassette after a couple rotations is that normal

Sounds like a stiff link.

Bang on! I found it, the link that is stiff is the one i attached!
Is there anything i can do to free it up, ive tried squirting grease and moving but its pretty tight!

Grab hold of it either side and flex it sideways (left/right) to loosen it up.

Re-riveting links in a 10 speed chain is not advised. Break once, rejoin only with a quick link (or special rivet) seems to be the advice, I'm not sure why.

If you can't free it up, you may need to remove and replace with another quick link.

Use the chain tool, it's what the middle saddle is there for. Just give it a slight tweak and it will free it.

Use the chain tool, it's what the middle saddle is there for. Just give it a slight tweak and it will free it.
