Like GrasB, I've cycle passed pretty much every vehicle you can (gotta love cycling through mayfair). Over 7 or so miles I've beaten motorbikes in London.

Superb that.

Probably just over 30mph.

That would have been more impressive if you were riding fixed

It's an interesting question, especially in view of the number of pointlessly expensive cars I see being driven around London at the weekend. Surely if you can afford to drop that much on a car, you also have a cottage somewhere at the other end of a nice fun twisty road (Oxfordshire, probably) to drive down to every weekend?

Dan B, I do not think you get the point of living in London. It is not about quiet country lanes for many people want the complete opposite. I hasten to add that living surrounded by miles of open fields I am not one of them, but each to their own, I certainly am lucky to be able to live where I want to and not where others dictate as many do.
