A smart Ravemen bell that has a reasonably loud ping

I've had a few different bells, including a very loud buzzer that would frighten pedestrians and get them angry with me. I now have a small bell with a pretty good ding that gets people's attention when I'm approaching them from behind.

Order from Bikeparts arrived. Bits for the forthcoming build

An FSA T47 bottom bracket. Black Pro bar tape. 2 x Supacaz Fly bottle cages which seem nice and light.

Bought a few bits recently:

- 10 Specialized Turbo tubes, which should do me for a while.
- A Campag bottom bracket removal tool for the Peugeot upthread
- An Ofmega crankset for the above. Had the chance for a Shimano 600 one but dithered.
- A pair of Shimano 600 brakes for the above. Only need the front, but a pair was cheaper than one on it's own.
- A "hardly used" Shimano wheelset for the Peugeot. They're far worse than described, but may do for a bit.
- A pair of Reynolds skewers
- A lightly used Prime carbon wheelset as I'm down to no spare rear carbon wheels.
- A SRAM Red 11 speed cassette
- A USB rear light. Very cheap delivered.
- A Zefal bottle cage. Probably for the Peugeot.
- A couple of Vittoria Rubino Pro's as they were on offer.

*2 of Pairs Resin Semi-metallic Mountain Bike Brake Pads Fit for Tektro Novela Lyra

And for some very average performing cable operated discs. Discs are pretty new and brakes are well adjusted / cables renewed mid last year. So hopefully the ‘semi metallic’ aspect pulls this behemoth of a bike up a little quicker……

Quite a few more bits in the post over the last few days - for my new Cruiser build. Just one of those pictured however.

And sometimes the small things [….are going to] make all the difference. **Some lovely quality CNC machined, thick, anodised, Aluminium axle washers……

Bought an M-Part Ax3D rear rack. It's supposed to be for disks, but has a QR skewer for fitting direct to the dropouts, using the QR to support the pannier rack. The extra clearance isn't really an issue as it will protect the rear mech on my CX bike. The bags might be a little wide, but I'm not using big bags (Ortlieb front rollers). The stay fittings will be attached to a seat post bracket I've already bodged.

The plan is to try bike packing with this rack rather than a p-clipped rack on my CX bike, as that just didn't handle a lot of weight as the rack would swing from side to side over rough terrain, leading to interesting handling (bike went left, you steered right and then oscillated.

It arrived in a massive box (so no hiding). I said to MrsF I'll give this a go for bike packing rather than a new bike. She said what's the difference, and I said my other bikes don't have any fittings for racks. The 90's MTB does, and would make a great world tour bike, but I use that for work and I am not riding it on tarmac, or mixed surfaces all day as it's much slower than a CX/gravel bike.

She than started asking what a new bike would do, and I said it would have proper fittings for racks, so I could have panniers and fork bags, as well as top tube bolt on bag etc. I'll see how this rack works first as it won't take long to fit. Seems rather sturdy.

It's actually identical to a Blackburn Expedition EX1

The Supacaz cages are really nice, not cheap admittedly, but MANY colour options, and ime very good quality, so totally worth it for me.
Have them on a few bikes, plus a few stock items.

Didn't seem that outrageous in price to me. Less than 15 quid each. I know they're not carbon but the weight is comparable.

AXS Aerover bar/stem arrived from Panda Podium yesterday 😃
