I've just spent more on a V1 Octalink bottom bracket for the Giant FCR than I spent on the whole bike, having discovered the Octalink bottom bracket I have is a V2 type.

ANOTHER 🙄 pair of bars for the Trek rejuvenation build. Rise and Width of the reasonably expensive Nitto bars I just bought was spot on 👍 The fact they were a ball-burnished / matte type finish (With hubs, post, pedals etc being Polished) narked me; immediately from arrival 👎

So Kalloy Uno bars in same rise / width ordered and arrived yesterday. But in polished finish this time; to match in / including to the same make / model seat-post 👌

Repair patches and some sealant for TPU tubes ordered from Rene Herse's UK website, need the patches for repairs and thought I'd try the sealant to see how it goes as it has mostly decent reviews online.

Never heard of this place/site.

Their TPU tubes seem pretty tasty at £31 each.

I have a variety of makes, but noticed that the very first ones I bought, seem to have come down in price, and or are currently on offer for around the £17 mark - that's the Pirelli ones.
Both Sigma and Tredz have them for that much, including an 80mm variant which can be very useful.
Sigma

Alternatively, I have bought some from the excellent Craft Cadence.
They also offer a 4 for the price of 3 offer, or a 8 for 6, which also means you get free postage.
They are also normally £16.99 each, but with the offer that drops them down to effectively ~12.75 each.
Craft cadence tubes

They have a decent range of valve lengths as well.

I have found one manufacturer who makes 100mm valve tpu tubes, and that is the Schwalbe Aerothan - generally not that cheap, and sometimes tricky to find stock, but that as far as I know is the only one.

EDIT: Conti make them now as well - Conti 100mm

Another water bottle cage for the summer ride - the alloy one fitted parted company from the bracket at the weld. Still, with the help of a drill and some pins I might have something for ‘What have you fettled’ before long :-)

I don't actually have the tubes, the ones I have are Revoloop and Pirelli ones as I could get them at an advantageous price when I worked in the bike shop ^_^.

Just thought I'd get the patches as I wanted to give the sealant a try.

Do have a pair of Rene Herse Babyshoe Pass 650b tyres that have been used on and off for 4 years (mostly summer use) that have been excellent.

It's not cheap kit but it's quite small scale hence the higher prices.

Picked up two pairs of Dura-Ace 9100 jockey wheels for the price of one in a sale. They only had two, so I couldn't add it to the Bargains thread.
