I'm a vegetarian and eat Quorn products. I haven't eaten meat in 30+ years so have no idea whether Quorn tastes like real meat. I don't eat it because I want to pretend I'm eating meat. For me it's just a convenient ingredient (chicken style pieces/mince) to add to whatever I'm cooking. As for the sausages, it's just the same stuff in a different shape.

if you don't like the thread, don't read it,
and if you don't like people disagreeing with you, don't post in the first place.

You are coming across so enraged that people have taken opposing positions, that I wonder what sort of response you were expecting.

"Yes, @Lee_M, you are right: vegetarians are stupid and funny. Also your post is hilarious. Also also you are handsome and very clever."

Is that the sort of thing?

Anyone tried that Quorn (I think it was anyway) fake bacon? It absolutely stinks when you cook it and looks like crap. I'm sure there must be nicer smelling alternatives.

I quite like LMs quorn sausages and I've never been a veggie... although according to a veggie friend, they're not a good as they used to be.

Perhaps a nice cardie would warm you up?

This is true - they changed the recipe to reduce the amount of sugar and salt, and they are definitely not as tasty! They're also soy based now, which is a bit of a scunner if you're allergic.

More like they've stretched LMs corpse as much as it'll go. People were noticing the increasing sawdust levels as they ran out.

Not sure where im coming across as enraged but feel free to think that if it makes you happy.

Personally im relaxed and just amusing myself by reading the enraged replies, and no I don't need any validation that im right as its an opinion. I am however stunningly rich and good looking

As the mother of four vegetarians I would say the point of quorn is convenience.
Sometimes I lovingly prepare vegetarian dinners, but it involves a lot of chopping, and I don't always want to eat them, so I make a hearty meaty dish and shove some quorn in the oven at the same time.
Quorn nuggets taste the same as actual chicken ones, but cost twice as much. That's what they're all having for tea tonight.
Quorn mince is strangely spongey and I'd rather use lentils or beans as a meat substitute in spag bol or chilli.
They quite like the sausage rolls and picnic eggs but apparently the mini sausages are nasty.
