Food has generally gone up in price everywhere, McDs still competitive with the direct competition . KFC are awful, their chips are soggy shockers, I've been twice in the last twenty years, probably be another twenty after the last awful time!

I think there is weight watchers thread some where on CC.in my youth I always enjoyed a Wimpy followed by apple pie with cream Even better was the Pancake House in Leicester sadly long ago closed.

I quite like the food for what it is. It is good value imho. Burger, fries and drink for about 6.80. You can easily pay 4 quid for a mediocre sandwich in Marksies

I do think the cost of fast food places (McDs, KFC, BK, etc) is quite expensive. I have thought about buying something every now and then but when I see the price I think "bollocks to that".

It's no more crap than beer for example, yet cyclists indulge, even you maybe? It does at least provide some nutrition unlike most alcoholic beverages

Have to say I prefer a Five Guys burger, but you pay for the difference in quality. Bacon cheeseburger, fries and a coke - £16. Delicious.

I was quite excited when a 5 Guys opened up in Newcastle. Unlike McDonalds they haven't nailed the consistency thing as it's nowhere near as good as the American version. The fries in particular had daft amounts of salt on them.

Often it’s actually a very anti social thing.
Pubs may be social but you don't actually need to consume empty calories from alcohol while socialising.

There’s nothing wrong with McDs occasionally just like beer is ok in moderation

Nothing antisocial about beer. Its the people that drink to much that are the problem.
