All my bikes have the seat higher than the bars (except the BSA Shopper!), MTB, Brompton, road bikes. It's the most comfortable position for me. Up to 4" drop from seat to bars seems fine. It's not about emulating anyone, it's just the most comfortable and effective riding position.
That is my more relaxed frame......Yet it looks quite 'sit up and beg' in your avatar![]()
Like I said mate, I'm not knocking it, and the sloping top tube probably makes it look more extreme, just not for my (relatively) old bones!it's aeroooo lol but Seriosuoly it wasn't always that high but I prefered having a flat back at the time as it stopped my lower back hurting with a prolapsed disk![]()

Sorry @jack smith, no offence, but I just can't get my head around this one! I would be crippled up in pain by the end of my garden! I appreciate you might not.
If you look at the brickwork you can get a good idea of the drop. One course of bricks and mortar is about 75 mm. The drop in that photo is about 2 courses of bricks, so 150 mm or 6 inches.Like I said mate, I'm not knocking it, and the sloping top tube probably makes it look more extreme, just not for my (relatively) old bones!
They also show that the photo's on the wonk, which makes it look more extreme. If you look at the brickwork you can get a good idea of the drop. One course of bricks and mortar is about 75 mm. The drop in that photo is about 2 courses of bricks, so 150 mm or 6 inches.
And the compact frame even more so!They also show that the photo's on the wonk, which makes it look more extreme.
why not answer the question and add something to the thread, rather than just comment on how it was posted...........if you don't like the title thread, then don't comment and walk away from it
