    The banning of DDT was a major influence on the recovery of the Buzzard population, along with a lot of other Birds of Prey

    Wandering along in Alicante this morning we saw several Black Redstart
    Saw a nice Hoopoe yesterday, no picture though.

    Went for a walk at work after dinner and saw two cormorants and what I think was an oyster catcher.

    The snowy weather is forcing birds into the garden

  7. My pied wagtail has returned recently, today he has been joined by a 2nd, and a grey wagtail too.

    Riding along a chilly Coton cycle path this morning behind the university campus there were 5 hares involved in a boxing match.

    I have never ever seen this happening even though I have spent many hours watching them especially to see this spectacle

    You need to come to Cambridge in the next month or so.....
    That's twice I've seen it happen about a mile or so from the city centre!

    Normally when I have a coffee in a cafe the only wildlife is a house sparrow

    Not in Brisbane Botanical Gardens


    About a foot long. Quite a friendly little fella

    This afternoon a watched a barn owl hunting on some rough ground about 1 mile from the city centre of Cambridge.
