Jackdaws (one flew off with half a fat ball- cheeky sod!)

3 little egrets
7 buzzards
2 red kites
2 Kestrels
Starlings
Pheasants
Song thrush (heard)
And best of all- later on near dusk- Swallow! first of the year.

Resolutely on topic
Nest building is well underway in South London. This box was completely empty a week ago but we did see a lot of inquisitive activity prior to that. It's a poor quality camera that I had intended to replace but never got around to. It'll have to wait to be upgraded next season now.

My other monitored box has a much better camera, and hosted coal tits last year, but no activity so far. That's the remains of last season's nest.

Some kind of Bee Fly?
Wrens normally sing fairly low down and at least close to deep cover, if not actually in it.
Not this fella, singing his little heart out on a telephone line just outside our house, about 6 metres up.
Only got one pic, and he's facing away, doing his ventriloquial thing, so everyone within earshot gets a bit!

Wood anemones just coming into bloom in Stoke Wood. Focus is better on the leaves than the flowers; I'm not very competent.
