@DCBassman - just spent lunch time in my local chatting to Freddie 'Hot Rocks' Robertson....former member of The Toy Dolls and bass player on their classic punk rock hit - 'Nelly the Elephant'.
He now lives in our village.
Unfortunately, Freddy died a couple of months ago during the last lockdown. He hadn't been well, having been the subject of a violent attack sometime previously to when I first met him. He was badly beaten up and had acid thrown in his face - losing sight in one eye and was permanently on crutches. I think he also had some brain damage as he was a bit slurred all the time. Lovely fella though and cheerful throughout, despite his problems.
He apparently had a fall at home, which, complicated by his other problems, proved fatal.
I miss seeing him around the village.
RIP Hot Rocks
