Don't believe everything you hear ... I've got lucky in a few sprintsThank you Carl, I’m enjoying Zwift again and I’ve heard you’ve become bit of a power monster![]()
I agree, but what I liked about Light bicycle was I could specify how many spokes for each wheel at no extra cost. Being a big fella 28 spoke is minimum count I require.Yeah I did look at Light Bicycle but it was going to be more expensive, slower, and not as well supported.![]()
Don't be afraid to get upgraded to B, though. You'll improve vastly more by stretching yourself with the Bs (maybe in mixed-cat races?) than by sitting comfortably with the Cs and sprinting!
Thanks - great idea. Also potentially useful for watching or DS-ing ZRL races via fan view if the world the stage is being raced on isn't currently in the scheduleAs a note for the iTT, if anyone wants to ride it on an empty France course but doesn't know who they can add to their meetup to make this work (without awkwardly reaching out to one of the others and saying "ignore this meetup that I've just invited you to") we do have a secondary account that we use on the CCC side just for this sort of thing.
It's called "Cyclechat Bot" and if you follow it on Zwift, it'll follow you back eventually (if it doesn't happen within a day, might be best to PM me to remind me to check the account) and from then on, you can invite it to as many meetups as you need to fulfil the criteria.
Yeah it is a bit silly to base categories on just one data point I agree. I believe the new minimum category enforcement system Zwift are trialling does use more power data points than just 20 minute power, which is why some people are seeing themselves assigned to higher categories in those races.I realise it's inevitable at some point if I keep improving. It was just annoying in my first ever C race to come in 8th place, 6s behind the leader and then be told by ZwiftPower that I was too powerful for that category and the top 7 weren't. Load of old shite IMHO. It shouldn't all be based on W/kg over 20 minutes or any other single data point. (by the way I was literally 3.21 W/kg at 95% 20 minutes and fully maxed out - more fully than I'd ever been before).
Or not avoided if you're feeling OK that dayYeah it is a bit silly to base categories on just one data point I agree. To be fair, your category has gone back to C now you've done a few more longer events. It's always been the case with the current category system that if you're towards the top of your category, those 20-ish minute Crit races are best avoided if you don't want to get upgraded!

My first B crit race. 50 starters. Not too shabby
