LEJOG - Royston Wood - A Safer way

In September 2016 after completing a London to Paris ride, on the Avenue Verte, self supported, I managed to inspire myself into wanting to complete a bigger challenge. Lands End to John O Groats took my attention- a 1000 mile ride across mainland Britain. Solo & self supported I followed a 10...

    LEJOG via cycle.travel

As some may have noticed in the 100Km challenge section of this board, I completed my LEJOG ride a few days ago. The writeup for my LEJOG is a work in progress................. Meantime, I'd like to publicly acknowledge the invaluable contribution made by the cycle.travel website, as having...

Do I want to do LEJOG?

Silly question, I know. Only I can answer it. However, I'm looking for a little help in doing so. Basically, the question is, the challenge of LEJOG aside, is it an enjoyable ride? I would be travelling solo, trying to minimise cost and time off work, so we're talking camping + hostels, etc...

    LEJOG - local/previous knowledge required

I am completing LEJOG unsupported with one of my friends in August. I have drafted up my LEJOG route and I would appreciate any local knowledge or any previous knowledge in order to suggest any amendments to my routes. I am wishing to stay away from busy roads as much as possible, and to keep...

    Lejog On The Turbo

Never being a big turbo fan, but the smart trainers have made it a bit more interesting, I like Zwift but there are only so many times you can smite Yoda's Tricycle, the CC Bkool leagues look a bit too quick for me and are at the wrong times for me. I liked the real world rides and videos of...

Man cycles LEJOG in virtual reality

Just putting this up for discussion as I couldn`t see it elsewhere. I think it`s quite a good idea as to the principle behind it and I`d be surprised if some techy company didn`t take him up on it I`d need a set of wipers for the VR lenses given how much I sweat on the turbo! View...

    LEJOG - May 2017

I've booked a LEJOG with Peak Tours 6-21 May this year. I'm averaging 6-7k miles per year with a couple of Imperial centuries and many rides in the 50-70 mile range, so not expecting too many problems with riding 70 miles per day for a couple of weeks. Did have the option of 100 miles a day...

LEJOG 2017. 1st day route advice please

Have permission to ride a 10 day LEJOG next year, so about 100 miles/day. Will be on my audax bike with a triple and staying in Travelodges or similiar. Have some ideas of route from Bristol to Scotland but no idea about LE to Bristol. I've seen routes along both coasts, inland and some that mix...

LEJOG How much does/could/should it cost

LEJOG or JOGLE can be done cheaply or with more expense. What are people's experience of the costs they incurred or for which they are budgetting? My LEJOG (9 days, solo unsupported, 1000 miles) cost ~£800 (£700 below plus tyres, brake blocks, cleats, cables, chain - ie consumables). I have...
