So why does every guide I've read advocate adding a small amount of water to it? Sampling a flight of whisky at the Grill Bar (and they carry 600 malts) I was passed a jug of water with it and advised to add a few drops to it 'to develop the flavour'true, might as well just add water, and that just spoils good whisky
