It's very odd I agree, the article is suggesting it is only suitable for lighter riders - maybe they are confused, or I have misconstrued the sentence.
No disrespect to anyone, but I wouldn't naturally think someone who is 110-117kg as a light rider, and I doubt they would either.

I've dropped CST an e-mail to enquire, I will post their reply when it arrives.

Reading the article it sounds like he's interpreting the 70kg max payload as TOTAL for both tyres (which would be crazy).

He says at one point he is 70kg so right on the limit - but if you then add the weight of his bike he'd be well over the limit if it was 70kg total (which I'm sure it isn't).

No one's going to release bike tyres with a combined max payload of 70kg - even Pogacar +UCI weight limit bike is more than that

I think it's generally assumed be 60% rear, 40% front. So your total weight would have to be over 117kg to exceed the recommended payload limit on the rear tyre

Whilst those Ciro are low rolling resistance race tyres with good puncture protection, the middle ground are 120tpi CST
Energia C3045. These are both high durability and high puncture protection. Cheapest is Temu for £16 / £17 delivered in 25 / 28mm.

These MIPS helmets are insane value for money (£30). Spada are known for making motorcycling apparel and equipment but they added MTB a while back. I get the impression that maybe they are pulling out again because they are selling it off very cheap. Check out the jerseys whilst there.

I have had and used the helmet for a while now, bought when it was £40. It is well made, very comfortable and includes MIPS. I recently bought one for my son too.

Available in three colours and two sizes. I’m tempted to get another one just because they are so cheap!

I've ordered one. Also ordered one each of all the clothing that fit me as seemed like a bargain, all MTB clothing is reduced so yeah I think they are pulling out.
