Mmmm. Now looks like rain for HPC when we set off, but clearing away as we head north.
Annoyingly.

That will provide the chance to get wet on the way to the start, and then stand around getting colder before we leave !

I'll be very hopefully staring at the weather radar, and considering how to pack clothing/waterproofs, as necessary.

Oh no. Still that means I can wear 3/4 baggies.
There are exceptions to every rule Adrian ....

No, it sounds like a protoplan.
Correct .... @theclaud et mois conceptualised the outing and vague terms and conditions and we have a basic route containing some quite fine looking boozers.
So If I flesh-out route, boozers and rules for all to see.
We just need to agree date and start a thread.
Then it'll be a plan .... I think (planning not being my strongest point).

Run it past me. Planning, and assurance of planning are my thing.
So, we have a fine route starting from the environs of Winnersh station. Approx 40 miles through the pleasant small and windy lanes of the Chilterns as below:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16155372
Many many fine boozers were discovered en-route (If I put this into another application I can get all the pubs up as well).
So Simples, A pint per pub (or half depending on number of pubs), must be a different beer in each pub. A joker card to be played in a pub where you fancy a non-alcoholic beverage.
Cycle, get gradually p1553d, Fun quotient measured in the new cycling metric which I shall christen the 'Claudine' which is miles/pint. On the Exurbia ride we managed (how I don't know) to resist alcohol until the end where we ended-up with a Claudine rating of 10.
This might take a whole day .....

I'll start working on the pub list .... should I start a separate discussion thread?

Hopefully I'll beat the rain before I get to HPC!

The current forecast is no rain beforehand.
Yes, it's looking better. I suspect that any rain is likely to be limited to drizzle light enough to not require donning waterproofs, although I'll carry my Goretex top anyway.

I'm busily charging up batteries. lights, phones etc

The Norwegians are looking more optimistic.
