You multi-bikers must all be loaded.
I'm jealous, really...

I get a new bike every 2 to 3 years of each discipline (road/mtb). I always buy them on Interest free finance over 36 months. The monthly cost for both bikes combined is much less than some of my friends/colleagues spend on smoking. And they think I'm mad to spend so much on pushbikes.

err...4
Bianchi Via Nirone..., my favourite, currently very sick with a broken frame, soon to be replaced under warranty.
Trek 7.1FX...my leisure ride machine.
Raleigh 531 Clubman...completely rebuilt and updated...favoured bike while the Bianchi's off the road.
Raleigh Chimera...now my winter bike.

err..5 now ;)

Just recovered a dumped, wheel less Raleigh Record Sprint from the side of the road. Intact apart from no wheels.
I have an old pair of wheels that will go on...it would make a good hack, but it's a large frame size...with that horrible tall steering tube. Dont really know why i'm bothering, but it may find a home somewhere.

769 bikes

and I ride?

i had to sell my play bike to afford the re-build of the carlton
lived on beans on toast for a few months to afford the Inbred frame most parts come by way of christmas and birthday presents, my dad has now started asking for my CRC list come mid december!

Trek 4400 MTB - my current commute bike
Scott Sportster P3 - for longer journeys and touring
Specialised - hack bike (in England)

Want to get a Langster/other affordable fixed, when/if I return to Stockholm where the terrain is flatter than here.

Well I was loaded, till I bought all them bikes....

But seriously, you can buy a lot of bike for the sort of money most people spend on car. But a car is a frivolous luxury, whereas no-one can manage without a bike... can they?

Only one of my bikes was bought new, and that was in 1988. Three of them were built up from bare frames using parts out of skipped bikes and from Ebay. Any fool can walk into a bike shop and buy a bike. It's much more fun building your own - and cheaper.
