A visit to my nans for tea on a Sunday would often illicit such delights as sandwiches with Tulip Ham (from an oval tin...), or if we were really unlucky, tinned ox tongue...

Sand dab sandwich, you probably have to live by the coast to know what a 'sand dab' is.

I sometimes had what I called 'nothing sandwiches', these were two slices of buttered white bread stuck together. I was a farking weird kid.

As an impoverished student when the grant money had run out it was fried onion butties.

It was impossible get vegetarian food years ago at the football so I'd go to the hot dog guy and get the roll and have some fried onions and ketchup in it.
