:stop: Joe, our ginger rescue cat, is poorly. He's been even lazier than usual recently, spending the day asleep and the night, er, asleep. I thought it was just because he's settling down, but we got worried about him today when we picked him up and he just flopped around like a piece of wet carpet. Upon inspection, we found a deep cut under his left rear "armpit". We took him straight to the vet, who sedated him, stapled it up and kept him in overnight. We'll be picking him up in the morning, but the house feels very empty without him.

oh RT-sorry to hear this - hope the little mog heals well -it's strange when there's not a cat around when you're used to having one. I know this all too well :stop:

GWS Joe!

ahhhh cutie!!! glad you got it early - did the vet give any indication as to what was the likely cause?

Sounds like an infection, cats' claws being filthy with bacteria. (Assuming another cat did it.)

Sorry to hear about your cat we took Billa to the vets on Wednesday after we came home and found that she had vomited everywhere and was generally off her food, which is really not like her.

We also told them of other issues like having a we next to her litter tray and begging for food which she never used to do.

Nothing really wrong with her she is just getting old.

Oh well hope he gets better soon.

+1. Our cat's had a few episodes like this down the years - we're getting to spot the signs... suddenly listless, off his food, floppy, eyes looking dim etc. First thing the vet did each time was to look for bite / scratch marks (too many cats with attitude near us) - and every time they found the cause buried deep in his fur. Antibiotics by injection, couple of tablets, cat slept the rest of the day and was back on his food by next morning. The vet has told us it's alarming how quickly they go downhill once they're infected.

Hope he's better soon.:birthday:
