Colin is the plan to have so much “ stock” in Devon you can extend each of your 4 holidays a year too 3 months at a time .
It IS really nice down there, so it would be tempting... Still, it is very nice up here too! :okay:

Back to things bought for the bike ... A gear cable arrived. I have a bar end shifter on the way.

That just arrived. I bought it on eBay but it looks like it has never been used. Dura Ace for just over £26 - that is a good deal!

It included a new gear cable and frame cable stop.

Some Custom decals I wanted making.

Company making them gave me a few options; after I gave him the colours, sizes etc I wanted. I went with top option as it was exactly what I imagined…….👌

A bit of a distress purchase. For around 2 years I’ve been able to get the tubeless tyres on my main ride to seat using an old, rusty but reasonably decent track pump. Up until now, when trying to replace a tyre I’d chewed up slamming on the anchors down a steep hill to avoid rear-ending a Honda Civic. It was not budging even after a solid workout for me on the pump.

The prices for booster- style pumps had always put me off and my current pump is still fine for ….err.. pumping tyres, but I cashed in some accumulated wiggle vouchers on a Joe Blow Booster.

Arrived today. It feels like if weighs as much as the bike but by Attenborough it does the job!

Thursday 20th

2 x new sets of brake-pads, for my work-bike
There's a distinct lack of friction from the front set, & a horrendous squealing, the rear are fine
(Shimano JC04 in front, 'Discobrake' in the rear
I've tried cleaning them; brake-cleaner, IPA (alcohol wipes), boiling water, lightly sanding the pads
All to no avail, so replacement fronts, & a spare pair, for whichever end needs them first ordered
https://www.discobrakes.com/index.php?s=0&t=0&c=14&p=1042&tb=001

(2 sets are far cheaper than a single Shimano set)
A very good service!
I ordered about 18:00 on Wednesday, so presumably the order wasn’t dealt with until Thursday AM
They arrived in yesterdays post!

Couple of bits for the Colnago CX. Replacement Canti brake bolts x 4, as the ones on it are a little tatty, and new stem bolts - again, same reason, they are tatty/a little corroded. Doesn't need out else at the moment.

New disc brake rotor. Do I need a torque wrench to fit it or just tighten the bolts up as far as they will go? Do have a torque wrench somewhere but it's hiding well at the moment.

Edit - found torque wrench but it's too strong - Shimano say 2-4 Newton
