I mean a colnago frame for under $100.

It does seem slightly too good to be true.

Agree completely, l have messaged them a couple of times to ask what size frames they have and so far no reply ..... l won't be going any further with it .

And how is Planet X doing now? What surprises me is that this price is lower than SRAM 9 and 10 speed chains.

Far as i remember Ajax the first numbers on Sram chains relates to the gears ie 1110 is an 11 speed , the last numbers are to do with both the hardness of the pins and the finish, and any Sram chain with the last numbers under 50 are not hard pins and just a cheap chain that will not last as long as a Sram chain with the last numbers above 50?

Sadly this seems to be part of the end of rim brakes on mainstream bikes.

The rim brake wasn't restricted to odd sizes when I checked,

I am also a bit confused about the fork Ribble Endurance Carbon Fork 725 White, is this a carbon fork with a steel steerer? This puts me off, I get steel, I get carbon fibre but I don't get a steel frame with a CF fork. To me if a CF fork improves the ride then the steel frame/fork was the wrong geometry for the intended purpose. I have been commuting the same route for last 16 months, the last month on steel (753 frame and forks, but 753 and 725 are very similar materials) instead of CF and the ride has been so much smoother.

Sadly Ribble have been shipping Tiagra equiped bikes with FSA Omega chainsets for quite a while but have not updated their photos. In my mind they have had the time and are deliberately misleading the customer as an all Tiagra bike looks better than one with the FSA crank.

At £700 it is still a good bye

Bye

Ian

Good evening,

I suspect that nearly everyone here either has these tools or has no interest in acquiring them, but as a gift/hint stop bugging me and fix your own bike yourself you lazy .........

Good see that Planet X haven't given up on the hype, pro level workshop, seems somewhat unlikely.

That’s a very good start for some entering the world of DIY bike fettling . They can always upgrade to Park or other premium makes if required in the future.
