The solution is to buy bottles of toner and hypodermic needles. Cheaper in the longer term than refill cartridges and saves the environmental waste associated with replacing with new.
Get the cartridges refillled or go for a continuous inking system.

Have to say I'm constantly amazed at both ends of the spectrum. So much 'stuff' is now so incredibly cheap compared to when I was younger, but entertainment and the like seems awful dear. Going to the pictures round here on anything other than Monday night costs £12.20. £12.20, to go to the pictures! Surely going to the pictures should be a fiver, give or take. But I got a 50x magnifier, with built in LEDs, made out of metal, top quality, delivery included...

...for £2.50.

That's just crazy.

Multi blade cartridge razors, from the likes of Gillette and Wilkinson Sword can be just as ludicrously overpriced as some electric shavers.
Also, Doc Marten's boots...... way too expensive, seeing as most of them are now made in the far east.
And dont get me started on anything Apple.

Double edge razor is the answer. Initial outlay £20 for decent razor. My consumibles purchases in 2018 - two tubs of shaving soap @£1.99 each. Two packs of razor blades, one @£3.50 for five, two @£5.95 for 25. Total cost £19.38 and I probably have enough soap to last till April 2019 and blades till February 2019. It's a no brainer. All the consumables delivered in 48 hours to my door!!!!

The cost of vinyl LPs in HMV. £20 upwards. Talk about cashing in on the fad for retro.

We recently bought Neil Young's "Harvest" as a wedding present. I was gobsmacked to discover it cost £35!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing I find jaw dropping is the cost of, and the number of people prepared to pay it, a full smart trainer set up. A friend recently purchased a Tacx, Zwift subscription, paid for a cassette to be fitted, purchased a bluetooth dongle, fan, rubber mat and various other bits. For what? The chance to pedal in the lounge in a fantasy, virtual world with "friends." I find it quite astonishing. The same money would buy a brand new Cannondale Synapse all set up as a winter bike.

Me? I sign up for the local gym at £27.99/month on a monthly basis. 44 spin classes included per week, 40 of them run by a coach who specialises in cyclist centred classes. The gym offers me a free month for every person who signs up on my recommendation - two so far - and I only plan to be a member for 4 months.

Well.....he needs the cash to buy up all the land and property he's after.
He's currently building a holiday home overlooking Saunton Sands, just down the road from me. Been 4 years in the making so far, and might be finished this year. The plot of land it stands on had a nice 1930s chalet bungalow on it, which sold for £1,750,000. It was levelled 2 weeks after the sale.
Gawd knows how much the new house is costing - but a mate of mine, who has a construction company, reckons there was around a million spent on ground works before the main build started!
