It's bad enough on my Brompton - M6R with two chainrings.
50T has 32" 39" 50" 62" 78" 97" gears, which is good for unladen commuting.
44T has 28" 35" 44" 54" 69" 85", which is good for laden touring.
I don't have a front mech, which is just as well as I'm not sure where I'd fit a third gear lever.

These days I'd need a motor, I suspect.

You could add a Schlumph speed drive or mountain drive on the front, which seems a very similar proiduct to what hese dudes claim to have "invented" just on the crank - arguably a better place for it than mixed with a rear cassette

I have enough problems counting up to six!
Seriously, even my touring bike only has 7 gears. 34T chainring, 12-32 cassette, for 28" 35" 43" 50" 56" 64" 75".
I'm beginning to think I might not be the target market for this particular 'innovation'.
