We were doing OK last night with the windows open and the fan on low - until a terrier sized hot water bottle decided he was too warm on the floor and launched himself into our bed...

When we moved to near the seaside 4 years ago, one of the first things we bought was a tower fan. We leave it running all night in this type of weather, which at least keeps the air moving around, even if it doesn't cool the air down. Without it I really don't know what we would do......

My dad used to work nights many years ago and would come home for around 4 in the morning. One summer he had this crazy idea to put out a camp bed in the back garden to sleep on so he wouldn't disturb me or my mum when he got home. I went to School and Mum went out to work, and my dad slowly but surely roasted him self in the mid day heat whilst having his beauty sleep. He ended up with severe sun burn and sun stroke.
I swear if he had a brain cell it would be lonely in that head of his :-)
