I went for a little ride today. As i haven't done much cycling lately i felt a bit out of breath. I've also had a cold these last few days which as usual, dries up then gives me a chesty cough. Also the cold easterly wind didn't help either. I stopped off at a friends for a cup of tea and a chat. He said he'd also had a chesty cough and he'd been prescribed an inhaler by the doctor. It's called a Ventolin Evohaler. The question is can i use it or could something dodgy happen if i use it?

I'm asthmatic and have used these things for years. Thankfully I'm well enough managed not to need it often.
I'd rather have a nice cup of strong tea with caffeine in, as I get one of the side effects of Ventolin, which can effect the central nervous system and make me feel anxious, nervy, jittery etc.

The inhaler (Salbutamol) is for asthma, so you shouldn't really use it if you don't suffer with asthma.

Good point. I think i'll leave it.
