It keeps our cats occupied. There's a meow app that responds to meowing by, erm, meowing. We have a cat that likes to get the last word - the record so far is half an hour of the cat talking to Alexa.

Well, quite. Unless Alexa is robot that can physically walk into the garage and open the door. If you want it to do additional things like control your heating or lights then there are additional purchases needed.

If you live alone, something a bit sad about it.

If you live with others, won't they be driven mad by you talking to the walls?

We got it for free off a relative who had got bored with it after a couple of months.

I was offered one when I renewed my broadband. I declined, the sales person said "I'll send one, if you don't want it, you can sell it". I still refused it and made it clear under no circs was he to send one. You could tell he thought I was odd.
