The popular female name, Diane, was taken from the Citroen Diane. In French it translates as, "bargain basement farmers car that isn't quite as s***e as a 2CV."

In 1937, Mrs Dyane Postlethwaite, a widow, was pushing her twin babies in a Silver Cross pram. At the top of a steep hill, she lost her grip on the handle, and the pram, laden with babies, careered down the hill. In a scene not unlike the famous “Grand Central Staircase” scene in The Untouchables, Mr Albert Citrin, an unemployed motor car designer, chased after the pram, snatching the two babies to safety just before it crashed at the bottom of the hill.

As Mr Citrin handed the babies back to Dyane, he looked at the bashed, upturned pram lying at the roadside, and got inspiration for a new car design.

Mr Citrin and Dyane later married, and had several children, who they named Berlingo, Picasso, Saxo and BX.

The Citroen Saxo was originally due to be name the Paxo after the designers love for the famous sage and onion stuffing, but once this was discovered he was sacked. Paxo became sacked-so, or Saxo.

A true factoid. The Hyhundai Atoz was due to be name the Atos. Hyundai UK staff desperately tried to explain to head office what a toss was, but to no avail. Out of sheer desperation someone faxed a drawing of someone having a toss to head office, and the name was duly changed.

I am choosing to believe this heart-warming - if far-fetched - story of automotive corporate life.👍

Early cows were in fact hippopptami with nltches painted upon them. Dairy hippopotami had to be milked by stuntmen or death row prisoners.

The word “barbarian” originated in ancient Greece, and was initially used to describe all non-Greek-speaking peoples, including Persians, Egyptians, Medes and Phoenicians. In the Greek ear, speakers of a foreign tongue made unintelligible sounds (“bar bar bar”). In reality, they had merely stumbled into the Beach Boys who had time travelled while performing their song "Barbara Ann".

There is also a theory that the "sea people" responsible for the bronze age collapse was merely a corruption of "surf people" also referring to the Beach Boys.

The Beach Boys were in fact all women and not boys at all. To this day Brianetta Wilson remains dedicated to the deception.

Of course, had the band been founded in 2022 they could have each decided to be men, women, or asexual puddle monsters from Venus, and anyone not agreeing would have been imprisoned.

Actually on the records one of the Beach Boys was a woman,

The Beach Boys were initially known as The Beige Boys, and performed wearing beige safari suits. They later adopted pastel colours (“The Peach Boys”), before finally adopting a surf-inspired image.

Ironically, the members of the Beach Boys were all born and raised in Kansas, approximately 2000km from the nearest coast. Brian Wilson had never seen the sea until he visited California to make the promo video for Surfin' USA..
