Hi I need to get a new front wheel for my old 1980s Raleigh Mustang.
Will most mtb wheels be compatible with my bike and will most accommodate my 1.75" tyres?
Also, if I get one with a quick release lever, will it be compatible with my front fork?
Thanks
I've just replaced the siezed forks on my commuter MTB with some Exotic rigid forks which don't have a bridge, so nowhere to attach my front mudguard. I could bodge something up with cable ties, jubilee clips etc but it will take time (that I don't have atm) to make something rigid enough to...
Short notice, but if anyone fancies it.....
I will be there in the morning with the oldest lad to give it some stick on the red loops and probably squeeze in a lap of the blue around the Irwell valley floor.
Haven't been for a couple of years now so will be interesting to see what state it is...

Nothing special really. I just created a YouTube account today and decided to post some of the little digital camera vid clips that are the highlights of some of the MTB moments from my kids as they grow up. Might be of interest to other MTBing parents (plus a couple of clips of me, filmed by...
The mystery black painted Raleigh MTB I recently salvaged has a sizing issue; the large 23" frame is manageable in height as I've got long legs. However the reach is massive as the frame TT length is 23", plus there's a 125mm stem fitted with fairly straight handlebar. If I measure from the...
I have some surplus to requirements items in the CF81 area, but will post on request for additional fee. Payment via PayPal (not PayPal Friend) or Cash on collection

I'm trying to get an idea about one that's been described to me, that was destined for dumping down the council tip. Not yet seen in the flesh, so no pics.
Rigid lugged and brazed frame in "ball-buster" large sizing with high horizontal top tube. Regular unicrown MTB forks. Heron headbadge...

The ratchets and Velcro straps are in perfect working condition, and the shoe is in good condition except for some scuffs on the left side of the right shoe as shown.

Just picked up a Boardman Comp MTB. It is used and needs a bit of TLC but at the price I paid I am very happy. Frame is in good condition as are the wheels and tyres. Some bearings may need attention!
Going back to my roots. Still have the Boardman road bike but Mountain Biking is where I...
Greetings from Esslingen, south Germany
We're a cycling family and once again we are running out of bicycles, as the Elder Son is as tall as me and really needs a bike of his own for visiting Girlfriend etc.
Thing is, he would really like a retro styled drop handlebar bike, and we're on a...

We'll be setting off from the main car park at 9am from an 8.30 arrival and will be doing the main blue/ red/black.
Usual rules: turn up on suitable hardware and wait for me at the top of the climbs. Brews at the caff afterwards.
I do not run with much drop anyway being on the smaller side of ass :)
My road bike has 3-4 cm of drop but my drop bar mtb feels more comfy with a longer no drop stem .
Has anyone an idea why ? , the mtb is more of a winter bike cruiser and some have called it a tourer set up .Tried a...
Hi, my wife has an MTB with 27.5 wheels but she wants to swap the knobblys for something more suitable with less resistance for touring on the roads...does anyone have any recommendations?
hey guys/lassies my mtb has been giving me a bit of flack on its wheel hubs for a while,
what size bearings should i be looking for to replace them?
front wheel is really annoying me and some of the bearings have a dull couloring on spots instead of been shiny.
its the old black/grey/orange...
I am interested in converting my drop bar carrera subway to 700c wheels as the stock wheels weigh ton .
I stuck a road wheel in the front just to see clearances and apartfrom the disk brake caliper which im guessing is because the wheel is not dished for disk brakes (?) their was plenty of...
Purchased 2 years ago for uni but not turned a wheel and unlikely to in the next two years.

Immaculate condition (obviously); just the odd tiny sign of storage/transit

:okay:
I'm thinking of changing the flat standard pedals on my bike, to ones where I could wear a cycling shoe and clip in on one side, with the other side flat so I could still use normal shoes. I've seen a few comments on the pros and cons here, but I'm not clear on the terminology and could do with...
Selling on behalf of my step son a 2010 GT Avalanche 2 MTB (Hard Tail).
£125 ono.
The bike is in a good/fair condition, my step son has mentioned that it could do with a good full service, I rode it today up and down the street and everthing works just fine for me. It's not been used in any...
cost me £60 and only ridden a few times. the tongue rubs my ankle.
Tried trimming them down but still not happy
£23 posted ?
apart from the trimmed tongue they are pretty much new
Don't need stats, anecdotes will do. No deep motivation for needing to know, just interested. Is the greater weight and smaller gearing of a mtb offset by the advantages offered by its suspension?
