After watching the tdf ,yet again i find myself thinking these top riders seem to have the seat set with a lot of knee bend..
So i googled road bike seat height and read about the Lemond way..
Measure inside leg with no shoes and with a spirit level at the groin ,Then take that measurement and...
Hi there
I'm looking to buy a saddle bag for my two road bikes:

I'd like a saddle bag big enough so I can carry spare tools, tyre levers and inner tubes. I also have my...
As per thread title. Any recommendations for a saddle bag that is big enough for a few essentials (tube, money, CO2 pump, multi tool etc) that is sturdy when attached to the saddle. Previous expreince with them was velcro straps over the seat rails which meant I couldn't get it tight and they...
on one of my recent bike collection journeys i was offered this 1 ride old and as good as new very lightly used Selle Italia limited edition saddle .

As you can see main body...
Any reason I can't just zip-tie a piece of doweling (actually, a cut-down bamboo garden cane) through my saddle rails to fix my Carradice saddlebag to my bike? Wouldn't leave it there without the bag - might be a bit lethal! Seems to sit well and feel strong. Will take it on a test ride tomorrow...
Hi, just wondering if anyone has any experience they could share regarding nubuck saddles? I'm interested in buying one but a little concerned about how long the nubuck finish will last? Its the Selle italia flite im looking to buy.

I've just had a go at fitting a new saddle for the first time (previous ones have been done at my LBS when having a proper bike fit). I've tried to get it as close to the position of my previous saddle - which was perfect and gave me no trouble - but as I've been doing it by eye I'm fully...
Not heard of this measurement before (cave dweller).
Shown in the geometry spec's (scroll right down) with min'/max' measurements.
Is this measured from the BB centre to the rails themselves ie at the point where they are clamped...
I am selling a saddle for a mate. He bought a virtually unused mountain bike which had the saddle on but the saddle is too narrow for him.
The original owner appeared to have bought the bike and barely ridden it. My mate only used the saddle once before replacing it. Looking at the top of it...
I've got myself a Lycett, to add to my saddle collection, it's in reasonable condition, a nice bit of leather, but it might need some lacing. Another bit of Birmingham cycle saddle history.
Pics, after a slight encounter with Dubbin.
Just wondering on what the general concensus is on setting saddle height on a cx bike for use off road / cx racing rather than on the road.
I have recently bought a cx bike for riding off road this summer with a plan to try cx racing next winter and currently got mine set the same height as my...
I have recently started getting a saddle sore/ chafing on my right inner thigh/ groin area .
When i scoot forward a little bit i am more comfy ,is it worth putting my saddle forward or is their another underlying issue ?
EDIT i think it more of a pad thickness issue issue , see later post
Fizik Aliante Kium Twin Flex and Fizik saddle pack.

Hi, long shot but,
Anyone around west Texas USA who has or knows how to obtain a retaining bolt and clamp for a Brooks b17 saddle? Mine has snapped. Trying to get one on line is like pulling teeth!
In Del Rio heading for El Paso.
Thanks
